Our Priorities for 2024
The future of our country is on the line this year, more than ever before. Joe Biden and the Democratic Party believe in democracy, the rule of law, and building a decent society with some idea of the common good. They have to win if we want America’s great experiment to continue for our children and grandchildren. The alternatives are chaos, division, oligarchy, autocracy, white nationalism. Here are our 2024 priorities:
Goal 1:
Build Back Bluer
Hold the White House: We can’t allow a corrupt authoritarian to control the power of the presidency.
Hold the US House and Senate: Target races with thin margins where our intervention could help secure victories.
Flip legislatures and down ballot offices in swing states: Support state-level candidates as a way to promote progressive issues and impact gerrymandering, election rules, and voting rights.
Goal 2:
Strengthen our democracy
Work for reforms like HR.1 and S.1 For the People Act; HR.51 and S.51 Statehood for DC; and National Popular Vote Interstate Compact
Fight disinformation: A healthy democracy requires a shared reality. We’ll combat right-wing propaganda that threatens progressive priorities.
Goal 3:
Promote progressive policies
We’ll work for policies that reflect deeply-held Concord values of justice, individual rights, free thought, and environmental protection. For example:
- Action on climate change
- Racial equity
- Reproductive rights
- Immigration reform
- Passage, finally, of the ERA
- Transparency in government
