Promote Progressive Policies

Work at the local, state, and national levels to enact and update policies that reflect deeply-held Concord values of justice, individual rights, free thought, and environmental protection. The issues we are likely to address include:

  • Democracy, inclusion, racial and gender equality, and compassion
  • Functional, transparent, and accountable government
  • Economic and social justice
  • Education opportunity, access, and quality
  • Gun violence
  • Healthcare for all
  • Housing equity
  • Human rights
  • Immigration justice
  • Judicial system that works for all
  • Reproductive rights
  • Sustainable environment
  • Voter engagement and election integrity

Concord Indivisible’s Role:

Concord Indivisible joins with allied groups to urge our elected representatives to support legislation that reflects our values. We also seek to educate our members on key progressive issues and encourage them to press for action by:

  • Donating to local, state, and national organizations that address these issues
  • Contacting voters through postcard projects, phone banks, and text banks
  • Sending letters to the editor

Take Action!

    Support Anti-SGAR Legislation

Second Generation Anti-Coagulant Rodenticides (SGARs) kill up-foodchain wildlife and pets. Write or call your legislators in support of these bills:
H.825/S.487 For better record keeping and tracking of pest control application
H.814/S.540 Protect residents and the environment from harmful pesticides and return the control of pesticides to cities and towns
H.804 Give Arlington the ability to control SGARs

  • Promote Racially Inclusive Curriculum in Schools

    Email Your State Legislators

Write your legislators supporting H.542/S.288 – An Act to Promote Racially Inclusive Curriculum in Schools. This bill would ensure that instruction in K-12 education includes teaching accurate histories, writings, and contributions of racial and ethnic groups that have been historically underrepresented or marginalized.

  • Protect Medication Abortions

Donate to Groups on the Legal Front Lines

Now that anti-abortion groups have won their federal suit to remove FDA approval of mifepristone for medication abortions, this very safe, low-cost option may no longer be available to pregnant persons in blue states as well as red. While a second court has issued a stay for any action by the FDA, the issue is almost certain to end up before the Supreme Court.

The legal battle to protect mifepristone — currently used in more than half of all U.S. abortions — will likely be lengthy and costly. Several groups leading the fight need our donations immediately to continue their work. Please consider a gift to one or more of the groups below — as well as to other groups on this page that are working hard to keep abortion accessible.

  • Support Club Q Victims

Support the needs of victims, families, and community

The Colorado Healing Fund (CHF) is accepting donations in response to the Club Q Shooting. CHF was established to help communities rebuild after mass tragedies such as these and we are accepting donations right now that will go to the families of the deceased, the survivors, and the greater impacted community.

  • Champion LGBTQ Legislation

Support One Colorado’s lobbying and advocacy efforts

One Colorado effectively advocates for LGBTQ Coloradans and their families by lobbying the General Assembly, the executive branch, and local governments on issues like safe schools, transgender equality, relationship recognition, and LGBTQ health and human services.

  • Give to Colorado Springs LGBTQIA2+ Youth

    Build access, equity, and power

LGBTQIA2+ youth in the Pikes Peak region are at the highest risk in their peer group for various health-related problems, including drug and alcohol abuse, school drop-out, physical abuse, sexual abuse, homelessness, and suicide. Inside Out works to create a safe space for LGBTQIA2+ youth (ages 13-24) and their allies, and promote education and outreach into the El Paso County, Colorado region.

  • Show Solidarity

Use social media to show your support

Words matter. Give your words of support, love, and solidarity to Club Q.

  • Human Rights Campaign

    Nationwide fight for LGBTQ+ rights

The Human Rights Campaign envisions a world where every member of the LGBTQ+ family has the freedom to live their truth without fear, and with equality under the law. They empower 3 million members and supporters to mobilize against attacks on the most marginalized people in our community.
